The 2008 Black Tie Dinner will host its beneficiary application orientation meeting at the Adams Mark Hotel’s Austin Ballroom 2 on Jan. 29 at 6:30 p.m.

Attendance is mandatory for any group that wants to become a beneficiary.

Black Tie Dinner officials will explain the application process and requirements at the meeting. Beneficiary candidates must have a tax-exempt status as determined by the IRS and be able to demonstrate significant service to the North Texas LGBT community.

“Selecting our beneficiaries is one of the most important things that we do,” said Randy Ray, co-chair.

Beneficiary candidates must also use a majority of their funds for direct programs and services. Completed applications are due by Feb. 22 at 5 p.m.

Beneficiaries are scheduled to be selected by the board of directors by March 29.

The 2008 Black Tie Dinner will be held on Nov. 22.
