Second Amendment
Two bills that Log Cabin Republicans endorsed have been voted out of committee and are headed to the state Senate for a vote.
SB11, also known as Campus Carry, would protect the 2nd Amendment rights of college students to carry guns on Texas state college campuses.
SB17, also known as Open Carry, would protect the 2nd Amendment rights of all Texans to carry firearms openly in Texas.
“The Log Cabin Republicans supports the constitutional rights of all Texans including the right of American citizens to bear arms,” Log Cabin Texas President Jeff Davis wrote in a press release sent to Dallas Voice.
Log Cabin Lobby Day Recap
Log Cabin Republicans of Texas hosted our 2015 Lobby Day last week on Thursday, February 12th, and the event was a great success. We met with over 50 Representatives, Senators, and Staffers and gained a tremendous amount of support for our Legislative Agenda, which you can read here. LCR-Texas Chairman Jeff Davis will be meeting with Legislative Officials throughout the Legislative Session.
