Musical star Megan Hilty teams up with DSO

Die-hard theater queens probably first remember hearing the name Megan Hilty when she took over the role of Glinda (created by Kristen Chenoweth) in the original Broadway production of Wicked. She’s since gone on to star in 9 to 5, Noises Off (a recent Tony nomination) and the TV show Smash. Let’s just say she’s budding Broadway royalty. And she will deliver three concerts with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra next week, featuring showtune classics like “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend” and others off her album It Happens All the Time.
DEETS: Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center, 2301 Flora St. Sept. 9–10 at 7:30 p.m., Sept. 11 at 2:30 p.m. MyDSO.com.

Theatre Britain revisits the grand  dame of mysteries, Agatha Christie, with ‘The Hollow’

A spooky English countryside estate, a slate of unsavory folks, each with something to hide and a locked-room murder that seems impossible to solve. It could only be from the mind of Agatha Christie, and it is. Theatre Britain performs one of the Queen of Crime’s juiciest puzzlers, The Hollow. Bet you can’t guess whodunnit.
DEETS: Cox Building Playhouse, 1517 H Ave., Plano.
