DBDT’s closes season with Spring Celebration, featuring Bruce Wood’s ‘Red’

The Dallas Black Dance Theatre’s Dallas season is almost over (though the company goes on tour for a while as well), and it closes it with its annual Spring Celebration — part of the Soluna Festival. This year’s slate of works will include a performance of the choreographer’s Bruce Wood’s powerful Red.

Complexions Contemporary Ballet closes TITAS’ season

TITAS’ 2015–16 season was all-day, and almost all Dallas debuts. The one returning company is Complexions Contemporary Ballet, one of the premiere modern dance troupes in America (founded by former Ailey dancers Dwight Rhoden and Desmond Richardson). This concert will feature new dances from the acclaimed company and close out TITAS’ season.

‘Ragtime’ national tour settles in at Fair Park

Terrence McNally is one of theaterdom’s most honored writers, and he took home one of his four Tony Awards for his book to Ragtime, the musical adaptation of E.L. Doctorow’s expansive novel about turn-of-the-century New York and the wild sense of justice practiced then. It arrives for a two-week run at Fair Park, courtesy of Dallas Summer Musicals. DEETS:
