Mysterious play ‘White Rabbit, Red Rabbit’ opens at Wyly

It’s one of the most talked-about theatrical sensations of the last decade… only nobody knows what it is. That’s because the playwright, Nassim Soleimanpour, has very specific instructions about its performance: The script is sealed, and the actor performing it (it changes every single performance) reads the script for the first time in front of the audience … and must perform it all the way though. What happens? Well, don’t Google it! Just come see White Rabbit, Red Rabbit. Maybe you’ll understand what the title means. Maybe not. We don’t know, either!

DEETS: Wyly Theatre Studio,
2400 Flora St.

Out cancer survivor Tig Notaro performs benefit at Eisemann

About five years ago, Standup Tig Notaro went from respected comic to revered hero when, after her own diagnosis with breast cancer, she performed a scathingly original set that had audiences laughing through tears. She’s now cancer-free, but still an icon to other survivors, as she’ll demonstrate as the headliner for the Comedy Kicks Cancer show, which benefits the Cancer Support Community North Texas group, which provides assistance to those dealing with all forms of cancer. It’s a one-night-only performance at Richardson’s Eisemann Center.

DEETS: Eisemann Center for Performing Arts,
5231 Performance Drive, Richardson.
$62.50.
