Phyllis Frye is a pioneer in and an icon of the fight for LGBTQ rights in Texas and across the nation. Having lived now more than 60 percent of her life as the woman she always knew she was, Frye is an Eagle Scout, a former member of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets, an Army veteran, an engineer, an attorney, a father, a grandmother and a lesbian widow — not to mention the first out transgender judge in the nation. Hear her speak Wednesday, Nov. 15, at the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum.
