It’s Purple Party Weekend in Dallas, and you’ll need a good, hearty meal Saturday morning to make sure you have the fuel to get you through the weekend. And what’s a good meal with a good drag show to go along with it? No need to worry about that, because Purple Party’s Royalty Drag Brunch happens Saturday morning, May 7, at 11 a.m. at Dallas Marriott Suites Market Center, 2493 N. Stemmons Freeway. The show will feature Liquor Mini (pictured), Shasta Montana, Bleach, Vinna Rouge and Layla Larue.

DIFFA’s main event
You got a little sneak peek at some of the high-fashion designer jackets last Friday night, but now it’s time for the main event. The 2022 House of DIFFA Extravaganza takes to the runway Saturday night, May 7, at the Omni Hotel Dallas, 555 S. Lamar St. The evening includes a silent auction, dinner and a live auction and the legendary runway show, all kicking off at 6 p.m. (5:30 p.m. for the VIP ticketholders). Like many other events, this is the DIFFA runway show and auction’s first venture back after the pandemic, and it promises to be epic. Visit DIFFADallas.org for details and tickets.

Country music’s rebel queen
If I say “country music outlaw,” first thing that comes to mind is probably Willie and Waylon and the boys (well, if you are old enough to remember that era of country music). But there’s a new rebel queen in country music, and her name is Miranda Lambert. This Texas native is the one who sings about how “this ain’t your Mama’s Broken Heart, and about how she’d leave a little lady pinin’ on the front porch as she rode off into the sunset, If I Was a Cowboy. The award-winning singer/songwriter from Longview, joined by Little Big Town, brings the Bandwagon Tour to Dallas’ Dos Equis Pavilion Saturday, May 7, at 6:55 p.m. Visit TicketNetwork.com for tickets, starting at $83.
