Chefs for Farmers dominates the weekend
What started as a small one-day fundraiser a few years ago has ballooned into a massive benefit and foodie festival across four days. Chefs for Farmers is back starting Thursday with Bite Night featuring the entire cast of Top Chef Charleston alums (with Dallas Voice’s Arnold Wayne Jones serving as judge), a sold-out dinner Friday at the Adolphus, a Street Food Market at Victory Park Saturday evening, and the main event that started it all, an afternoon stroll through Oak Lawn Park with tons of food options. Come stuff yourself at some or all and meet some of the best celebrichefs in Texas and beyond.

Jada Fox headlines official NTX Beer Week Halloween Party
We’re used to having a Happy Halloween, but now you can have a Hoppy one, too. That’s because Oct. 27 through Nov. 5 is North Texas Beer Week. Restaurants from all across the area will be participating, but the only place on All Hallow’s Eve with the title “Official” NTX Beer Week Halloween Party is Addison’s Flying Saucer. And they are doing it up with mistress of ceremonies and entertainer Jada Fox, drag horror-themed trivia, a costume contest and of course pints from the likes of Lakewood Brewing.

Verdi’s ‘La Traviata’ continues Dallas Opera season
Among the most celebrated of all opera, Verdi’s La Traviata tells the lovely tale of the doomed courtesan Violetta and her tragic relationship with the naïve Alfredo. This production stars soprano Georgia Jarman and Zach Borichevsky as the lovers, and is conducted by Carlo Montanaro with choreography by John de los Santos.
