Dallas Arboretum welcomes top chefs to second Food & Wine Fest
The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden hosted its first outdoor Food & Wine Festival last year during the colorful Dallas Blooms fest, and it was such a hit, it’s back. Many top local chefs — among them Anastacia Quinones (The Cedar Social), John Tesar (Knife), Josh Harmon (Junction Craft + Kitchen), Stephan Pyles (Flora Street Café), Junior Borges (CBD Provisions), Nikky Phinyawatana (Asian Mint, pictured) and more — tackle one of four styles of cuisine (Pan-Asian, American Bistro, Mediterranean and South American) amid the blossoms of spring. The VIP event begins at 6.

Controversial play ‘Cradle Will Rock’ gets limited run in Plano
Brick Road Theatre is a young theater company in the area but an ambitious one. It’s latest production is a revival of Cradle Will Rock, Marc Blitzstein’s touchstone drama about governmental corruption and anthem for the work man. The original production — directed by Orson Welles and produced by John Houseman — was a cause celebre in 1938, and instrumental in turning theater into something heavily political. It’s relevance remains intact. You only have this weekend to catch it, though, as it opened for a limited run.

Riverdance returns for historic 20th anniversary of step dancing
It’s hard to imagine, but once there was a world where most people didn’t know what Irish step dancing was and had never heard the word “Riverdance.” But Michael Flatley’s global sensation has entered our public consciousness for 20 years now, believe it or not … which is why it’s back in Dallas for this anniversary tour. If you’ve never seen it before, this is the time.
