House of DIFFA: Futuro looks to a future with zero HIV infections

Surely, the theme Futuro for this year’s DIFFA Collection sounds futuristic, but the name also represents a future of zero deaths and infections from HIV/AIDS. The goal is always the same, but this year’s gala promises to be as extravagant as always, with Carson Kressley serving as celebrity auctioneer and of course great fashion to dazzle the senses.

Death! Danger! Disco! ‘Disaster!’

Remember bell-bottoms, platform shoes and disco? Now remember all of those things under water, or on fire, or shaking with the ground? Then you remember the disaster movies of the 1970s. Seth Rudetsky and Jack Plotnick sure do, as they proved in the hilarious Broadway musical Disaster! A musical spoof of The Towering Inferno, Earthquake, The Poseidon Adventure and more, this comedy makes it regional debut courtesy Uptown Players, with B.J. Cleveland directing.

Kalita Humphreys Theater,
3636 Turtle Creek Blvd.
