Classics Theatre Project returns with Sam Shepard’s ‘Fool for Love’

The Classic Theatre Project launched last summer with The Cherry Orchard, and the promise to stage meaningful works from the last century or so. The company jumps ahead a few decades with Sam Shepard’s dark comic romance Fool for Love, a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. Company artistic director Joey Folsom stars alongside Sasha Mya Ada, in a production directed by Van Quattro.

The Best Little Bear-House in Texas! TBRU returns

The Texas Bear Round-Up — the annual congress of the hirsute, the cuddly and their fans — returns to Dallas, courtesy of the Dallas Bears, for a 24th incarnation. This year its theme is The Best Little Bear-House in Texas, which of course we always knew. Among the activities are a kick-off costume party, Mr. TBRU contest, a barbecue, beer busts and more. Entertainment includes a performance by Miss Coco Peru, as well as Bear Dance with special guest Vanessa Mateo, aka Miss Vanjie, pictured.

DTC’s ‘The Wolves’ explores the drive to be the best on a girls’ soccer team

What could be more cutthroat than a pack of wolves? Heirs fighting over a millionnaire’s estate? Women at a shoe sale at Nordstrom? Amateurs. Try a girl’s soccer team. Sarah DeLappe’s dramatic comedy shows the drive, ambition, competition and lengths young athletes will go to be the best. The fierceness is on display in The Wolves, a Pulitzer finalist making its regional debut from Dallas Theater Center.
