ASD – A Home for Life announced today (Jan. 7) the appointment of Tegjula Hilburn, MHA, as its new Vice President and Chief Operations Officer. In this role, Hilburn will oversee organizational operations and support the continued growth and impact of ASD’s mission to create and sustain healthy communities through quality, affordable, service-enriched housing.

Hilburn has more than 15 years of experience strengthening multi-site systems, expanding access to care and improving quality of life for underserved communities. Her career spans leadership roles in both nonprofit and for-profit healthcare organizations, where she has overseen complex clinical operations, expanded service lines, and championed high-quality, patient-centered care.

Her experience includes senior housing, behavioral health, substance use treatment, ambulatory surgery and community-based health programs. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to equity, removing barriers to care and driving outcomes that transform both systems and lives.

Hilburn holds a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management from Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University.

Outside of her professional work, Hilburn enjoys spending time with her husband, Craig, their son Eli, and their goldendoodle, MJ. She is actively engaged in community service, volunteering with Meals on Wheels and previously serving with organizations including Alliance for Children, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Young Life, United Way, and through her service-driven involvement with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. In her spare time, she enjoys playing tennis and exploring new recipes in the kitchen.
