A defective sprinkler head in Arlington Hall caused 55,000 gallons of water to flood the dining room, ballroom and living room on Monday, Jan. 26.
Dallas Fire-Rescue along with Turtle Creek Park Conservancy staff quickly brought the situation under control, according to TCPC CEO and President Tiffany Divis.
“Firefighters entered the building, turned off the water and helped minimize damage,” Divis wrote to park supporters. “Our staff immediately began cleanup, removing 4–6 inches of standing water and drying the floors with mops, squeegees, fans, and humidifiers. All floors, curtains, rugs, and furniture are being professionally cleaned, and TCC will continue to assess ongoing restoration and repairs.”
She said flood damage was significant, but restoration work has already begun.
“We are incredibly thankful to the firefighters and everyone who stepped in to protect Arlington Hall,” she wrote. “Their care, expertise, and teamwork making a meaningful difference.”
