See if this sounds familiar: A man new to the Dallas leather community enters the Mr. Dallas Eagle competition, and wins. Then he ends up taking the Mr. Texas Leather title as well, before moving on to unexpected victory as International Mr. Leather.
Yes, we’re describing reigning IML champ Jeffrey Payne. But we might be talking about Jack Duke. That is, if things continue the way they are.
In December, Duke — who’s originally from Italy and works as a gelato master — took the sash at the Mr. Dallas Eagle pageant. Then last weekend, at the Mr. Texas Leather held right here in town, he won Mr. Texas Leather as well. That qualifies him for IML later this spring.
Any chance a Texas boy (even one by way of Italia) could score a twofer? Stranger things have happened.
It would be fitting if Dallas got another IML. Jeffery Payne has been a wonderful International Mr. Leather and an ambassador for our community. I personally think Jack Duke would be a great successor.
Good luck Jack!!!
