Okay. I have spoken by phone with someone who was there. He stressed that he did not know the whole story. He said he was on the patio, and when he noticed that the music had stopped he went inside. That’s when he saw at least one office wearing a “ninja” mask.
He said officers were not being violent in any way that he saw; they were just standing around, waiting on people to clear out of the bar. He also said he had heard the bar was shut down after an underage person working undecover being served a drink.
He took a photo with his cell phone and sent it to me, but it’s not really clear enough for you to see what’s going on.
From what I have heard, there was at least one officer in the bar wearing a mask. But I don’t think that is all that unusual whenever you have officers who work undercover.

Thank you TABC for the “Eagle thing” last night. The worst thing you could possibly do to us is upset are BAR LIFE. This is a very big part of WHO WE ARE.
If you keep this up we will make posters every morning and march around every evening. We will shout some anti-TABC rhymes, too.
It’s not easy being GAY,
T-A-B-C go away.
ARE WE CLEAR?
While I understand the need for undercover agents to protect their “cover” – there is a much more foolproof way to protect their identy. They leave the arrest/investigation portion to other officers and do not reenter the bar. To hide behind masks only serves to intimidate people and risks of someone panicing and increases the chance of injury.
The TABC is out of control. Whether a bar is gay, straight…whatever. The Gestapo-like activities of these “Barney Fife’s” acting as police need to be brought under control…and held accountable for their actions.
How come a bartender in the Eagle (!) serving alcohol to someone under 21?! Especially after it took forever to open the new location.
I don’t think the Eagle will alienate its core customers (30s-50s) by being extra strict with spring chickens.
The bar life is a big part of who we are is a stereotype. I perfer intelligent, kind, and athletic over being stereotyped with drunks and lushes.
Look – there are rules for a reason –
In this day and age there is NO excuse for having underage children in a bar!
All ID’s can clearly be identified as fake or not – considering all the barcodes on the rear of them – as well as the black light coding systems! If airport security uses them to locate fake ID’s, then isnt it about time the bar owners spent the money to utilize these same things – thereby eliminating any fake id’s/underage patrons.
while i keep my thoughts to myself on the whole TABC incident –
the owners of the establishment have no where to place blame for serving minors, but on themselves.
Folks, it not a matter of fake ID’s. TABC does not give it’s agents fake ID’s to entrap people with. A minor that works for TABC was served an alcoholic beverage. If he would have been asked, he would have shown his correct ID. The reason the agents reentered with their mask on is to protect their identy because going undercover is their job and they have to identify the bartender that served them to the other agents. They are lucky that no staff went to jail as they could have. The reason the liquor was poured out is because it was from the old location and you are not allowed to take it with you to the new location because the stamps on the bottles are registered to the old location. If the owners had done what was necessary, this would have been nothing but routine and we would not even be discussing it.
You people are like lambs to the slaughter. When will you wake up?
