BURNS-ANGLE  |  Political consultant J.D. Angle and Fort Worth City Councilman Joel Burns will celebrate their 17th anniversary on Saturday, March 20. Burns and Angle met in 1992 working for then-Gov. Bill Clinton in his first campaign for president. Burns was first elected to the City Council in 2007 in a six-person special election for District 9, becoming the first openly gay elected official in Tarrant County. He was re-elected in May 2009. Angle is a partner in the national political consulting firm AMMpolitical.com and is active on the board of directors of KERA, Texas Lyceum and others. Burns and Angle will observe their anniversary by attending the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network annual dinner at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C., and the couple say they hope that by their 18th anniversary, the need for future SLDN dinners will be obsolete.
