‘Stand Against AIDS’ rally, town hall meeting set for Wednesday

The Afiya Center, Campaign to END AIDS Dallas, will hold a rally Wednesday, March 11, at 3 p.m., followed by a town hall meeting at 5 p.m. at the Martin Luther King Center, 2922 MLK Blvd., Building E, as part of the national "Stand Against AIDS: 50-Day Report Card" effort.

The purpose of the events is to give people living with HIV and AIDS the opportunity to grade local jurisdictions on how well they are addressing the barriers that contribute to the AIDS epidemic locally, and organizers of the local rally and meeting hope to link local strategies with progress being made on a national HIV/AIDS plan and address intersecting factors such as racism, poverty, homophobia and more.
