Log Cabin Republicans issued a statement over the weekend that it is “returning to its roots and focusing specifically on lesbian, gay, and bisexual Americans, conservative values, individual liberty, and equal protection under the law.”
The press release called this “clarity.”
“It is about remembering who we are, why Log Cabin was founded, and making sure gay and lesbian conservatives have a strong voice inside the Republican Party,” they wrote.
On its membership page, Log Cabin Republicans is clear about what they stand for: “We are Americans who believe in limited government, lower taxes, individual freedom, personal responsibility, confident foreign policy and a strong national defense.”
