Oak Lawn United Methodist Church, 3014 Oak Lawn Ave., hosts a volunteer training program for Pathways to Dignity, the church’s outreach ministry serving neighbors experiencing homelessness and housing instability in the Oak Lawn neighborhood at 4 p.m. at the church. The training will introduce participants to opportunities including street outreach, meal service, hospitality, transportation assistance and mores.

The 17th Annual Bloomin’ Ball begins with a cocktail reception and silent auction opening at 6:30 p.m. followed at 8 p.m. by a three-course sit-down dinner, all at Tower Club Dallas, 1601 Elm St., 48th floor, with complimentary valet parking at 1660 Pacific Ave. This year’s Bloomin’ Ball holds special significance as it serves as the kickoff celebration for AIN’s 40th Anniversary.
