Meet Mercury — tiny, shiny and full of star stuff. At just 8 months old and 3.3 pounds, she is a pocket-sized wonder with a heart that beats big and warm. She is gentle, loving and endlessly friendly — the kind of companion who curls onto your lap, and makes you feel like you’re her whole universe. And right now, Mercury needs a safe place to land as she heals from a fractured pelvis and is on medication. But the vet says she should be healed enough for adoption soon. In the meantime, Mercury needs an emergency foster who can hold space for a small cat with a giant heart.

While Mercury isn’t available for adoption just yet, she is available for foster or foster-to-adopt, which at SPCA of Texas doesn’t cost a thing except love and time. SPCA provides everything you need — bowls, food, bedding, collar and medications. Mercury has been spayed and microchipped, and is current on all her vaccines. Come meet her at the Dallas Animal Care Center, (2400 Lone Star Drive, open from noon-6 p.m. every day of the week. If you would like to foster Mercury, email foster@spca.org or just stop by the shelter.
