Congresswoman Julie Johnson — the Democrat representing Texas District 32 and the first openly LGBTQ person elected to Congress from a southern state — has released the following statement in response to Donald Trump’s joint address to Congress on Tuesday night, March 4:

U.S Rep. Julie Johnson

Congresswoman Julie Johnson serves on the Homeland Security Committee, the Foreign Affairs Committee and the House Administration Committee. Her district includes parts of Collin, Dallas and Denton Counties. Johnson took Dr. John Carlo, CEO of Prism Health North Texas, as her guest to Trump’s speech.
