In the case of PFLAG v Trump, a judge granted a preliminary injunction blocking federal agencies from cutting off grant funding because a health care institution provides gender-affirming medical care to patients under the age of 19 for the duration of the case.
Lambda Legal, representing PFLAG, had already obtained a temporary restraining order that was set to expire on March 5. On Tuesday, March 4, the same judge extended the injunction for the duration of the case.
According to Lambda Legal, the court was clear. In a press release, the organization released this statement: “The court was clear — the President’s power has limits and targeting trans people’s health care is discrimination, pure and simple. Trans youth and young adults deserve access to gender-affirming care!”
