Arttitude, in collaboration with Das Blümelein Project and Pride Frisco, presents Voices Beyond Boundaries, a classical music recital that pairs 17th- and 18th-century Italian arias with contemporary counterparts from the New Music Anthology for Trans and Nonbinary Voices, Vol. 1, curated by trans and nonbinary writer and singer Aiden K. Feltkamp. The event takes place at the Latino Cultural Center, 2600 Live Oak St. in Dallas, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m., a panel discussion from 6:50-7:15 p.m. and the recital at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $10. Jan. 25-26: International Holocaust Remembrance Day Free Museum Admission
In recognition of International Holocaust Remembrance Day and the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, happening on Jan. 27, the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum opens its doors for free to students with valid IDs and those under 18 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. both days. The museum’s commemoration of Holocaust Remembrance Day this year features a screening of Defiant Requiem, a documentary telling the stories of Jewish concentration camp prisoners who found home through the transformative power of music.
