UPDATE: Information in this post describing the suspect and identifying him as a third roommate is based on information released by police after the shooting; and Dallas Voice has not yet received updated information from police. However, friends of Bianca Davenport Starr and London Starr have said that while the physical description of the shooter is accurate, that person was not the third roommate living at the home. Friends have said that the third roommate was, in fact, another drag performer.
Drag performer Bianca Giselle Davenport Starr was killed and drag performer London Starr was injured in a shooting before 10 a.m. today (Friday, Dec. 8) at the Fort Worth home they shared with a third roommate,
according to reports by Fort Worth police and by family and friends on Facebook.
Police said that the third roommate, not identified by name but described as a black male, age 35, with salt-and-pepper-colored facial hair, is believed to be the shooter.
London Starr was taken to Harris Methodist Hospital in critical condition.
Bianca Giselle Davenport Starr was Miss Dallas Pride 2017 and Miss Texas State At Large 2017. The multitude of tributes left on her Facebook page by family and friends described her as a talented performer as a well as a loving and supportive friend and family member with an amazing sense of humor.
Bianca, whose “boy name” was Jason, worked as a hairdresser.
Ril Bianca you will truly be missed ????
Are these the two that were in Texarkana for a good while? I’ve heard about the shooting incident, but unsure of their names as never having been properly introduced, but they were always so friendly and kind to me and my partner (at the time when I lived in T town)…
We love u Bianca
I Will Always Love You Jason no matter what you would truly be missed
We ? you Bianca and you will surely be missed by your family and all of your friends you always inspired people to just be themselves and live life to the fullest as you did R.I.H
Texarkana is hurting…
Bianca is my drag mother. Her and the family she offered to me meant more to me than anything.
She taught me more about love, acceptance, and self confidence than anyone I’ve ever met.
More than a drag mother, she was a true mentor.
I’m currently pregnant and have plans to name my child after her.
Truly a sad event for the Dallas and Gay communities near and far. My prayers and condolences to the families of both victims and to everyone else whose heart they reached out to.
Bianca, Words cannot the sorrow we feel at losing you. You were so loved and will deeply missed. Prayers for your family.
Ily cousin you nd my brother is in a better place
Dead naming is shameful
They are just trying to give as much info as possible to help solve the case lady. Ms. Bianca may have been just a performer and not trans.
My condolences to the families of both ladies. I hope you find Justice and Peace. God be with you all.
Pamela: It is my understanding that while Bianca was a drag entertainer, she was not necessarily transgender, that while Bianca is her stage name she also went by Jason in her non-drag life.
Love you too PIECES Mrs you DEARLY
I am in shock
No need at all to give her “boy name” here! !
Was Bianca trans or was that just her stage name, and she otherwise lived as Jason? There’s a big difference between the two, but the article gives no indication either way. If she isn’t trans, it isn’t deadnaming.
Why does it matter let this beautiful sole i never meet Rest In Peace. From New Mexico
I Miss U Jason A*K*A Bianca Starr
Bianca would not want all this anger… Just love wether Jason or Bianca she will be missed…
This is horrifying. I agree that the anger just makes an already terrible situation worse. Let’s come together and mourn her passing respectfully. I sincerely hope to see less news articles like this in the near future. Is my hope futile?
